Baby Girl Dieffenbach

Here's a brief list of things I still need, if anyone is interested in purchasing something.  My favorite consignment shops in PDX are Bella Stella's on NE Broadway, Rerun on NE Fremont in Beaumont and Zanzibar on NE Tillamook ax from the Hollywood Library; always a cheaper route to go with and most will have these items (except the bottles).

Ergo baby carrier- sold at Bella Stella's

Born Free GLASS (not plastic) bottles- need 6 more 5 oz. and 6 9oz. (best price and biggest selection at BabiesRUs, also sold at WholeFoods and NewSeasons)

Hand Me Down Luncheon

The luncheon is still on for Saturday, February 7th 10:30 am till 12:00noon at Cory Albertson's in Vancouver, WA.  It will be an opportunity for you to rid yourself of any clothes, gear or toys for our new baby girl coming in March.  I am registered at www.thethingsiwant.com under Stefanie Dieffenbach but the site has been down for a few weeks now.  I will post what I need on the 69th Street bulletin board.  Call Cory or Stef if you plan to come and what you will be bringing to eat.  We will not need refresh

Update on the Swindlers

Hey all ~

I was able to see Shannon this morning and it was such a relief to my heart.  She was pale and tired, but in good spirits.  She was also able to hold a long term coherent conversation, which she admitted was a first for her since being in the hospital.

As far as Shannan's health is concerned, she's not out of the woods yet.  I talked to one of her Dr.s this am and there are still some issues with her blood cells hemolysing (bursting) and her kidney function is not where it needs

Emily Yasson is Home with the Lord

Over the last few months I've put notices out concerning a family in Vancouver. Emily Yasson was diagnosed with cervical cancer that had reached and advanced stage. Last night at about 8:30 PM Emily went home to be with the Lord. The great storm is over. She leaves a husband, Greg, a 10 year-old daughter, Emma, and Jacob, 6. Please pray for this family as they look toward a life quite different than they anticipated. Also, if you wish to encourage the Yasson family or to offer your condolances their address is GYasson@comcast.net

IMPORTANT: Shannan Swindler needs prayer

Tim and Shannan Swindler are proud parents of a new baby boy. There are complications, however, and your prayers are needed. Shannan has encountered a potentially life threatening condition called an "amniotic embolism"--very rare and very dangeraous. Here is a link to their "Baby Blog" for details.

Maes in Mexico Update

Mercy is better. Jason fixed a van yesterday. Jesse has made friends quick. Danielle is glad to be helping out at the orphanage now.

Since Mercy was sick and they were stuck at the house I was getting e-mails,but now that things are moving along I don't expect to hear from her for a few days.

Maes Family in Mexico

The Maes family (Southside Samaritan House)  left for Mexico Friday morning and arrived in Morelia at 4 am Saturday. They said they felt covered in prayer and would appreciate your continued prayers.

They got there and the "guest house" ended up not being available, so, they are staying with Jake and Charity in their modest house.

They slept in on Saturday til around noon. Made a trip to the market. Met the staff and kids in the orphanage. Then watched a movie with all of them.

Keep 'em Home - 41st Brigade Belongs in Oregon

I've gotten to the point that I can't remain silent any longer. Caleb and 3500 other Oregon National Guard soldiers are being deployed, many for the second time, to Iraq. I'm joining the Campaign to Keep the Oregon Guard in Oregon. The effort empowers the governor to withhold Oregon Guard units except under certain conditions.

The Sunday struggles...

It's been mumbled about, mentioned often enough I feel we must take some action.  But first, a question to the rest of the coop...
