Keep 'em Home - 41st Brigade Belongs in Oregon

I've gotten to the point that I can't remain silent any longer. Caleb and 3500 other Oregon National Guard soldiers are being deployed, many for the second time, to Iraq. I'm joining the Campaign to Keep the Oregon Guard in Oregon. The effort empowers the governor to withhold Oregon Guard units except under certain conditions.

The Sunday struggles...

It's been mumbled about, mentioned often enough I feel we must take some action.  But first, a question to the rest of the coop...

Dearly Beloved of our Lord:

Love The Orphans (through the Maes family, that is)

The Maes family is having yet another fundraising yard/craft sale, only this one is to help pay our expenses to travel to Morelia, Mexico. The Lord has shown our family how we are to respond to needs of the little ones at Casa de Hogar. We will be traveling in September to visit, serve, and love on these kiddos. Soooo, here's the dealio:

The sale will be Friday and Saturday,July 25 & 26 at our place (7425 SE 63rd, P-town USA 97206)

Pay Attention!

The Lord has been renewing my awareness of opportunities He presents. Even opportunities that don't show up until I obey a simple nudge. I'm looking around, taking nothing as coincidence, or inconvenience. Expecting that every interaction will have eternal value. Making myself available, waiting for that opportunity to appear.

Heading for Home

Jody left Budapest yesterday. They arose early (4:45 am) to go to the airport. Their first stop will be Frankfurt, and then on to Chicago. Jody will spend the night there at Claudia’s place and then head for home to arrive Tuesday. Somehow, I misplaced the itinerary so I’m not sure exactly when she arrives, but she’ll call me from Chicago with all that information.

Aborting Themselves From The Truth?

Thank you Yahweh, for true life!  Thank You for breathing life into all of us.

I have a kind little buddy, who I met at an all-ages music club, years ago.  She has often confided in me, over the years.  Like a younger sister.  Her life at either parent's homes, has not always been the easiest for her.
