Online House Church Community

I got a much anticipated chance to visit with the Hilltop Fellowship. Met up with the Hempels, the Kings, the Crombies and enjoyed the hospitality of the Hilkiahs.

We had a "plowmans Platter." and enjoyed talking around the table about good news--bicycles and grandparents figured prominently among the kids!

Before we settled into the living room the kids (eight or ten of 'em) spent a few raucous minutes sliding down the carpeted stairway on their tummies sometimes tumbling over each other. It was a human avalanche spilling out into the living room! To start the evening's ordered time Kent hung up butcher paper with drawings of a field and a vineyard and taught the proverb about the sluggard which included the children coming up and pasting paper weeds onto the sluggard's paper farmland.

After that, the children busied themselves with coloring and then played upstairs while the grown-ups discussed their needs and life circumstances.

Later the group talked about how to celebrate Easter and then talked about observing lent. Alison passed around a statue of a person bowing in Prayer and a picture of a person kneeling. The beatitudes were read and the group talked about things we would like to experience with God.

I was grateful to finally get a chance to be with my brothers there in Oregon City. The only downside of the night was that the Omans (newly from Wisconsin) had sick kids and couldn't make it. Maybe one day I'll finally get to meet that gang!
